Just like all areas of human learning, which place a demand on the compelling need to keep track of their advent, provenance and etymology, it has continued to be a major concern of all architects and students of architecture to seek to contain, retain and maintain the knowledge and evolution of the discipline of architecture. Moving through Antiquity, Classicism, Baroque, Gothic, Rococo, Art- Noveau, Modernism and Post-Modernism, to the present state known as Contemporary Architecture, a good number of characteristics of styles and epochs have been documented by a variety of architectural historians. These architectural tendencies have various appellations and sobriquets associated with the same descriptions but have never presented a problem with recognition of their applicability and essence among adherents.
